Pool Deck Reframing and Sealing
A pool surround deck taken back to the frame, reframed with treated timber, sealed and prepared for a new deck surface.
01Brief
Client Objective
Rebuild the substructure around the pool so the new deck sits on a frame that can handle constant water exposure.
Construction Approach
Framing around a pool takes constant splash and standing water at the edges, so the new joists were sealed and the tops protected before anything was laid over them. The frame was set out to keep falls running away from the pool coping.
Scope of Work
- Removal of the existing deck surface
- Reframing with treated structural timber
- Joist and beam sealing at the pool edge
- Protective membrane to framing tops
- Levelling and preparation for the new surface

02Problem and Response
The Challenge
Working tight to a filled pool with finished coping and planting on the other side, with no room to stage material.
The Solution
The deck was reframed in sections, working from one end, so material handling stayed off the coping and the planted borders were not disturbed.
